the race railz look interesting but frame sliders more than do their job on the track
I've had all kinds of crashes on the track and have never had sliders break and don't know anybody that has (again, good sliders use very solid bases, not just a bolt and plastic puck)
just seems like solving a problem that really isn't there

honestly on my F4i there is no way the vortex frame sliders will bend, period
on the SV its a little more sketchy because Suzuki did some screwy stuff with the frame holes/engine mounts but its been through 5 or6 crashes in its lifetime and has never broken a bolt (I've ony crashed the SV twice, bought it from an endurance team)

well at 70+mph i dont expect either a cage or slider to protect the bike
I differ that also...lol....my racing 905 cage took a 60 mph screw up on the expressway 2 years ago and smahed into a wall, and a bent front rim and broken footpeg was the outcome...on a 98 900 RR

I've had a couple high speed crashes, with good frame sliders the bike usually just slides along the ground

that i can agree on, the frame do make a difference, like you said on the f4i the bolt holes are recessed so yeah its not just a plastic puck, so yeah i can see the sliders be useful but on others bikes where that not the issue, Im sry but i see them being useless

again, all vortex sliders have a good stronge base to mount the puck to, its never just a bolt and piece of plastic
and like I said, even on the SV that doesn't have the best place to mount the sliders, they've still never broken, and its been crashed hard quite a few times, they slide, the pucks grind down and the bike is undamaged
I crashed twice on it this year and never had to make any repairs other than replacing a clutch lever thanks to those sliders so "useless" is again quite incorrect

the race rails don't seem to stick out any farther than the sliders, check this picture:

the only advantagethey have oversliders is that its got 2 mounting points, its still the same concept

the piece with the slider sticks outjust a lil further thana slider does...pretty much they are just the top part of a full cage.....made of metal, 2 mounting points, and run betwween a foot to a foot and a half down your bike.......Ive got some buddy that use these to stunt (although made for twisties and the track) and drop their **** all the time and nothing....no slider could ever take that...i had em on an 03 636 a couple years back, they are bad ***

With the rails do you still have to modify the fairings like with the sliders? Also I looked on the site and I dont beleive they make any rails for the 07 or 08 cbrs.... Im just looking into buying the new grafitti cbr as my first bike and would like to make sure its protected

you still gotta cut with race rails...it just attaches at 2 points instead of 1.

i crashed in my vortex sliders...at around 45 or so...they held up fine.

race rails...for me...would be obtrusive when i climb/rotate back and forth to get twisties on...but given the design and the plastic tip...i would think that it would hold up better than regular sliders...2 solid mounting points are much better than 1.

wood...you see you new sliders for the SV? same mount point as before, but now they gots a solid bar that goes all the way through...that's one bike that really needs it!
