My 2001 f4i has about 23k on it and the FI light sometimes comes on and stays on but the bike runs exactly the same as if it never came off... doesnt run rought die sometimes or anything runs fine any ideas? it will go away if i turn it off then start the bike up again but comes back after awile and also seems to come on in higher speeds or rpm's...

And 2nd my speedo is not working sometimes also, it will go up and down when the key turns on but when i ride it doesnt move then ill be riding down the rode and it will just start to work... any ideas there? HELPPP there both annoying to ride with... thanks everyone.

 

Check the speed sensor. See if you have a loose connections, mouse nibbles on the harness, or you may just need to replace the sensor.

 

It's possible the two problems are related I know with cars the computer uses the speed sensor as an input.

 

isn't the FI light suppose to blink and tell you a code?

 

yeah it is supposed to blink for codes yours right, but its just lighting up and staying that way. no blinks just constently on.

 

i think the fi light just means you have a code but as of how get the code i dont know?
