Default Clutch too hot in the city?

I've experienced this problem a couple times now...just weird because it catches you off guard.
When riding in the city going slowly in traffic from red light to red light, (the engine temps are hot and the fan cycles) when I try and take off from first gear the engine revs up fine but when I let out the clutch it bogs/grabs like in slow motion. Sorta like the feeling if you were taking off in second or third gear.

My feeling is the motor oil (I'm using the genuine Honda oil) is just really hot and changing the effectiveness of the clutch? It goes away after the temps come down and like I said no problems with the engine revving- unless this problem is an engine under load issue, but I din't think it's that.

Anyone else experience this?

I've never experienced anything like this at all. I don't see why hot oil would cause this to happen. Sounds to me more like the clutch fibers are worn down and not grabbing properly.

I've noticed a slight loss of power when hot in heavy traffic and a bitof clutch chatter. Like you, all returns to normal when I get some air over the radiator.

do you have an aftermarket exhaust/

that happens to me and get worst in hot temperatures (when the bike is hotter) because it runs leaner.

Yep, aftermarket exhaust + PCIII.

Well, my clutch is fine in every other situation.....and the problem is only evident rarely and only when the "bike is hot"....so perhaps it is an engine under load issue.

If it was a car I'd check the timing and check/replace the plugs.

This actually reminds me of the situation of diagnosing heat related coil pack issues on the Nissan Skyline engine I had in my car.....I wouldn't wish coil pack issues on my worst enemy...those little F'ers are a pain in the *** to figure out.
