clutch replacement
Needing a new clutch on the F4i soon, 17k miles, about 16k street. Bike now strictly track. Any one have experience with EBC race clutch(paper lined), vs EBC standard cork clutch, OEM, or other clutches?
How do you know the clutch needs replaced on a bike? I've got 8000 miles on mine and I can't seem to pull the front end up in 2nd, slip it out at 6k to 9k and dump it and the bike just lurches forward and makes a quick whiny noise.
im looking for newclutch as well, any recommended sites with low prices?

I weigh 170 lbs, is it still going to pop up reguardless if im over the tank or not? the whole bike lurches forward and the front wheel pops up just a bit and the bike makes this weird whiny noise like a record scratching almost, is my clutch slipping or do I need to rev it up higher/drop my tire pressure
wow, I really dont think sonomajay gives crap about slipping the clutch to pull it up.
unfortunately, I really cant say what is good besides OEM; seeing as I have never worn one out. I usually wad a bike up way before that type of maintenance is needed. but seriously, I had 18k on my last F4i, no need for clutch replacement.

Yeah wheelies not my intent, I'll hoist the front on my DRZ400 for fun sometimes, but other than that all monowheeling is powering on the track. I believe the clutch, or at least the springs,is nearing its end life because I've maxed out the cable adjustments and am running out of lever play. I wasnt that hard on the bike either, maybe just sitting in traffic with the lever pulled in has fatigued the springs. Anyone tried heavy duty springs?
I doubt you have fatigued the springs that much. more than likely your plates are worn down, clutch plate wear is very different from rider to rider. depending on riding style. do you blip the throttle on downshifts, do you power launch using the clutch? You see top racers burning the clutch out on the launch of the race all the time.
