Default Clutch problem?

I have an 03 F4i that i recently purchased and im having a problem when changing gears and going for a decel to accel. The bike is jolting and feels like there's alot of slack in the chain. I've checked and adjusted the chain twice and still the problem remains. Only other thing I could think of was that maybe the clutch was way out of adjustment but i'm not sure how to properly adjust it back to spec. Help!

Im not sure what the prob is, I was just guessing b/c I couldnt think of anything else that could be causing this. Is it possible for the trans to have that much play in it?

Whats the best way to tell if they dampers are bad? None of mine were cracked or looked worn when I changed the rear tire about a month ago. When i reassembled the rear hub I did notice that they didnt fit very snugly. Should they?

they should fit snug enough to hold the sprocket in place when the wheel is off.
they should be slightly pliable and not hard as a rock and should not have worn patterns in them.
if you have a stand put your bike in gear and turn the tire back and forth see if the is play in the sprocket to wheel.
