Exclamation Clutch engages really late

Hey guys, I let my friend install HIDs on my bike. When I came over to pick it up and rode it, I noticed that the clutch engages really late. When at a stop and in first gear with the clutch pulled it, my bike USED TO start to creep forward when I released my clutch about 3/4 of the way. now... I pretty much have to release it almost all the way before it starts to creep even a little. My friend doesn't know what happened.

Anything I can do? Do I have to adjust the clutch cable or something? Never done it before...

2001 F4i...

There are adjustments on the lever and down by the clutch cover. Start playing around with the lever adjustment.

The one by the lever... is it just a **** looking thing right next to the handle? I've never done anything like this to the bike before...

You can't miss the one on the clutch cover, it's the only thing that moves when you pull the clutch. Also, there's a plastic black piece on the lever that adjusts it.

That's probably the only issue, but I do know that mine enages at about the halfway point. I never need to pull my clutch more than halfway in.

Loosen the lock nut that holds the cable, its the round flat shaped washer looking thing. That will allow you to adjust the clutch cable nut. Your gonna wanna turn it clock wise, or outwards, towards the middle of the bike. This should tension up your lever a bit and increase how fast the lever bites. Then check how it works, and tightn down the lock ring again.

Check your manual, theres a how to.
