Shuts off when engages in gear
All,
First, my bike is an 03 f4i.
Background: I stored it for the winter (live in northern michigan). Took it out about 2 weeks ago, changed the oil. I have been riding it since with no issues at all.
Yesterday I turned the key to the ignition, all the lights on the display lit up, then stayed on in a dim state except for the fi light. When I start it, the bike starts and sounds fine (starting in neutral). When I engage 1st or 2nd gear the bike shuts off, the fi light comes on, then goes off almost instantly. When I use the turn signals this also happens.
I checked the fi fuse, it is fine. I don't think its a fuel issue because this is now my second tank, and it sounds fine idling in neutral.
Any input would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Update:
As you all suggested I checked the kickstand sensor. I think that's fine. When I went to check and see if that fixed the problem the engine no longer fires. It will turn over, but not fire. Inspecting closer, I notice my fuel pump no longer primes (that sound that happens when the kill switch is deactivated is gone).
Any suggestions on how to check if my pump is shot? Or if any one thinks I am not on the right trail, let me know. I am still puzzled by the turn signals going shutting down the bike.
Thanks.
