Default Clipon interchangablitiy? Help...

Hey guys

I've got a somewhat incomplete 2002 F4i, and I need the clipons. The front of the bike consists of the forks, triples, and wheel...and that's it. I need both left and right, with the throttle assembly, all the switchgear, brake reservoir, etc. I've just bought cables for it, now I'm wondering where I can source a set of clipons. Do the 600RR ones fit? I'm assuming since the fork tubes are fairly similar in diameter, they should physically fit, but would the brake master cylinder be the same? Or do I have to stick with the F4i specific setup?

edit. I also need the whole master cylinder setup for the front brakes (which I have, with lines). Would a 600RR or maybe an R6 master do the same job?

I am switching to Helibars this month (they are on order). I'll need most of the hardware like brakes and stuff, but I may sell the basic clip on. PM me and I'll keep you posted.

I just looked into switching mine to the 600rr clip ons and found they are a different size. I would suggest ebay for a set of stocks or a set of r6 clip ons. I do believe that the 03' to current r6's clip ons are different, but dont quote me on that.

klutch,
Go and do asearch for r6 clip ons. I saw that someone had change his stock f4i clip ons to the r6 clip ons for a more aggressive possition.

Yeah, I just saw that too....looked good, and I liked the feel and quality of them on my last R6.

Looking in the parts bucket I got with the bike, I have a wrecked right clipon, but with the reservoir in goodshape. So I definitely need the actual clipons, and the left and right switchgear. Just wondering if I should get a complete set from a different bike, maybe with a better reservoir; from a 1000RR maybe? Anybody know offhand which clipon setups will work? I'll keep searching and post my results for future reference.

I have been looking at my xx and it seams that the brake assemblyis the same except it has a larger master on it. Will get back to you if your interested. I still haven't verified it. Will probably be this weekend. You could use alot of differant ones I really just like the stock reservoir, but want a larger master

Pm'ed.

Is the reservoir unit on the F4i also the master? On my R6, the reservoir sits a few inches above and is totally seperate from the master and lever....
