Nothin wrong with a lil fabbin to make things work. I got a CF yosh RS3 for a gixxer for 50 bucks off the "bay". I cut the front of the mid pipe off, and used the mid pipe that came with the bike (two bros., bike had pipe but no can) cut in half and slipped the front half over the "bolt-on" mid pipe (perfect fit). Found out the hard way that you can't mig-weld SS to Ti, but pig putty worked pretty good (BILLY MAYS here to tell you about mighty putty) Kinda like that sh*t but has been around for many years, and is industrial quality. Then wrapped it with some header wrap that looks like CF. So I say go for it, F them haters.

fabbing is nice when you have time imo..never fun when you want to ride and have to fab to ride...its always fun to have a pipe that no one else has.. i think mine was fabbed unless someone else has a V&H RS3 on their f4i

ive noticed that there are alota good pipes and slipons for gsxr's and ninjas but when it comes to cbr's, there arent alot with out spending an arm and a leg. i was gonna modify one to fit my cbr but i cant get passed the bolt on section... i want a muffler i can take off at some time if i ever need to and i cant find out how to get passed the bolt on portion

I don't quite understand what it is you are saying. Bolt on/slip on refers to how the can mounts to the mid pipe, the mid pipe mounts to the header by sliping on over the header pipe and held on with a band clamp. So by loosening one bolt on that clamp, you can remove the mid pipe and muffler as an assembley. And if you just want to remove the can simply unbolt the four bolts that mount the can to the mid pipe. Oh and in both cases you need to remove the mounting strap that bolts to the passenger peg.

No the gsxr's midpipes to the muffler are bolt on. they have 3 or 4 bolts that connect the mid pipe to the muffler. With CBR's they slip on and usually are held on by springs or clamps. Almost all gsxr exhaust are mufflers only and dont come with the midpipe because they reuse the stock midpipe unless its a full exhaust
