Changing the windscreen

Default Changing the windscreen

hey guys this is probably a noob question but im thinking about changing the stock windscreen on an 06 f4i and i was wondering if i need to take the front off to do it or can i just leave it on?

You leave the front fairing on. Windscreen removal is actually quite easy. Just remove the screws securing the windscreen.

I dunno how other windscreen are but I had to transfer those rubber nubbins over to my new windscreen..that was a complete PITA. worst part about it..I late realized the screen had a defect and I had to transfer them all back

Replacement parts very rarely, if ever, are sold with hardware. That said, I didn't have much of a problem with the "rubber nubbins." I just used a screw driver to put them back in.

has anybody tried making a windscreen from flat lexan?

pretty sure flat wouldn't work since it has a curved shape to it.

6 allen head screws will let you take out the windscreen. new one goes back in the same way.

i was just looking at min the other day and it looked like if u bent a flat peice and cut it right it would work...i dunno??

rubber nubbins?

Mine came with the gold "volcano" style allen screws to mount the windscreen, with normal bolt and washer underneath . It's a pain in the a$$ to get to the bolts all the way behind the gauge cluster without them dropping down into the front of the bike. These rubber nubbins sounds interesting.
I just replaced mine about 2 days ago...my last ebay screen was sun-bleached.

Its technically simple but physically a PITA. And yes the rubber nubbins are the wosrt part. But I discovered that the needle nose channel locks I have make the last 2 behing the gauge cluster infinitely easier.
