So I am a little late to this party but yes that hole is for sliders. I ordered my set from Delkevic and both sides came with a hole in that spot. I contacted them and asked for a replacement and was told that all their fairings come pre drilled and there was nothing they could do. I don't know if this is common with after market fairings or not but since that spot still goes to a engine mount bolt I was cool with it and just installed my sliders there. Now since only your right side has the hole that is an issue. Glad they fixed it for you.
