When this "Wife / girlfriend discovers unplanned pregnancy" happened to me and my son was born on the 25th we filed my taxes as me being the lone income for the family and bought my F4i with the tax money hehe.

 

OH HELL NO!!! DO NOT! REPEAT DO NOT BUT IT!!! he'll come down with the price or find one somewhere else.what you need to do is have someone with you that knows something about bikes. thats with any large $ amount items you want to buy. you dont but a plane if you cant fly it. lol

 

Yeah, Im seriously against 3700 for it too, 3500 might be possible if its in amazing shape with almost new tires, he says 8k on the chain, Im hoping I can talk him down to 3200, I dont know what it is about southern Minnesota, Northern Iowa and South Dakota, but bikes retain value here, I saw a few 05 f4i's with 20k priced at 6k, but i likr the early 2000s better

 

ryan, you can prolly find a cheaper bike in the same condition with lower mileage and get it shipped to you for the same price. Or take a road trip in a U-Haul / pickup truck and come out cheaper.

That's way too much money for that kind of mileage.

 

I just picked up a 01. Paid $3000 with 7,600 miles. Um ya..hes way off

 

And I'm not done being jealous. Triple the mileage only saved me $200.

 

Yeah I bought my 02 with 16 k for 2700. If your not to far away from WI I know that there are becoming more and more good deals on bikes here. Which dosnt make any sense because it winter the prices were high and now summer is here and the prices droped kind of backa$$wards isnt it?

 

Its almost worth driving to WI to get a bike, a few on CL had half the miles and still only around 3000

 

Either that or he swapped the Gauge cluster with a new one.

On a side note 2 years ago I bought a 01 f4i with 28k miles for 2,900 and resold it 4 months later for 3,500 after fixing up the fairings a bit myself

 

Ya that is alot for it even if it is in good condition. 2 months ago I bought my 02 with 21k on it. New chain, sprockets, tires, brakes, fluids and oil (adds up), zero grav windscreen, corbin seat, i know i am forgetting more and I got it for 3200. He gave me a joe rocket helmet, joe rocket jacket, and another jacket. Sold the helmet and other jacket for 200 bucks already. Looking to sell the joe rocket jacket. So right now I am in for 3000 on the bike and hope to get another 100 back, total of 2900 for it and it is in GREAT condition.
3700 is way much with that many miles, unless it is MINT with NEW tires, and everything else then MAYBE I would give 3200 for it MAX. That is what I paid for mine up front with all new stuff and extras with great plastics.
enough blabbing, shoot for maybe 3200, otherwise i would just keep looking
