Default Bringing a helmet along

Just curious if anyone rides with an extra helmet attached under the rear seat using the supplied hooks? or is that only for when the bike is parked? I am afraid that the spare helmet will rub a bit as I ride and scratch the paint....

the bottom of my lid is kinda padded, but I haven't noticed any scratches when I just have it attached and ride around.

on the '06 model it sits under the front seat making it near impossible to ride with a helmet there - at least I think it would, I haven't attempted it. I will probably make my own little bracket that will attach to the oh s*it bar to hold an extra helmet...

On my 06 I use a cargo net whenever I need the extra helmet. It is a PITA, but I always have it stored in my tank bag.

When I got my F4i, it didn't come with a manual. How exactly do you strap it in? I'm assuming you use those one of the 2 rectangular loops underneath the seat?
