Default Brake questions

Have a new set of front pads on the way and have a couple of questions re: brake wear...

While the wear appears to be symmetrical from side to side, the inner pad is clearly wearing faster than the outer pad. Any reason to be concerned about that?

How low do you go before replacing? I was going to go ahead to do it when the new pads arrive but, after further consideration (i.e. no track days any time soon), think I should be just fine to wait a few more thousand miles or so.

They seem to do that. I think that the inside pistons must get a bit more pressure because they are closer to the brake line inlet.

Those pads have like half their life left. I would put the thicker pad on the inside and run them for a while longer. But that's just me being cheap....

That thought never even occurred to me and, yeah, nothing wrong with cheap! Glad to know everything is within the realm of "normal"! Thanks! 👍

Mine do that as well. I tend to replace them right about when backing plate starts showing lol

This morning, I cleaned the pads and pistons, flipped the pads, and lubed the slide pins. Went for a ride and the difference in "feel" was amazing!

And here I refrained from that response because I was trying to keep this thread... mature and on topic. I'll know better next time! Lol!
