Black O2 sensor

Default Black O2 sensor

when i put my new pipe on the bike i pulled the o2 sensor and out and it was charcoal black. the bike is a 2006 and barley has 4000 miles on it. is it running rich?????????????????

It should be fine. Mine is the same way. and i know my bike is not running rich.

The bikes are designed to run a little rich if anything, better than running lean! Shouldn't be something that's going to cause any major problems though, a Power Commander may help with the air/fuel mixtures but they aren't absolutely necessary, but I do think that they make a noticable difference when they are used right! Especially with the hesitation/laggy acceleration that you might notice with that new pipe...
