Bike runs like crap
#14
spoke too soon.. still runs like crap.
I think its something electrical though because i when i went to cold start it the starter ticked then i gave it gas and it fired up. I know its running rich because the exhaust smokes a little bit. I checked the + and - terminal connections and everything is tight and it has a new battery the previous owner put in. I noticed on the ECM there is an unplugged connection is this for accessories?

Just my opinion, but you are pissing your money away. If you dont know how to replace these parts, you should learn, and obviously learn about your bike while you are doing it. These two parts are very very simple to change out. You can get the APE for under $50 shipped, but it you want to got OEM, theres nothing wrong with that, just more money for something that will wear eventually versus the APE that will never wear. Not knowing anything at all, I bet you could do it faster than the time they quoted you for. If you could determine that it is indeed the FPR, there is no need for a shop. If I had to bet though it is the FPR.

the guy said he'd replace the FPR free of charge except parts with the cctl replacement. I would love to replace the parts myself but it's a pain in the *** not having a garage to work in, my bike sits in an apartment complex parking lot. I figure $75 is worth it in my situation. Thanks for everything guys you've been a great help.
