Call your local newspaper and radio/tele broadcast stations. They LOVE stories about ******* cops that are abusing their power!

Hopefully they will pick up the impound fee since they admitted it was their error.

Question

There has to be more to the story you're not telling us. You're saying that police impounded your motorcycle out of the blue solely because your registration sticker fell off? Sorry, I don't buy it...

Thinking the exact same thing. Even if the registration isen't current they can't impound the vehicle.

Well i'm not going to rule what he is saying to be false. Me and a buddy of mine were in N.C one night and got caught speeding on our bikes. They impounded our bikes, took us to jail, and we were not released until the next morning when we could get $1,000 each wired to us through Western Union.

Well how fast were you speeding?

In Canada if you are doing 50km (30mph) over the limit,
- you get the vehicle impounded instantly for 7 days (regardless if you own the vehicle or not).
- License suspended from 7 days to 5 years.
- $2,000 to $10,000 fine.
- Up to 6 months in jail.
- And 6 - 9 Demerit points (have fun getting insurance after that)

In AZ if your 25mph over the limit or anything over 85mph its a criminal ticket and they can arrest you/impound you vehicle [been there/done that]. The OP said he just had a registration ticket fall off.
