Default Bike dead. Help!

Was on my way to pick up some oil at an auto shop and the gauges on my 01 F4i started going on and off like I was turning the key to the "on" position over and over. The bike was running fine. When I came out of the auto shop and tried to start the bike, absolutely nothing happened when I turned the key to the "on" position. No prime, no neutral light, and the clock wasnt even showing (which normally shows at all times even when the key is removed).

So I need some help here. I have owned the bike for a year and have not replaced the battery. I have no idea when the battery was replaced before I owned it. The battery is my initial guess but I want any opinions you have and why you have them please. HELP!

Have you even begun to look at it yet? Start simple. Check the battery. Charge it up and drive it over to that parts store in your car and have them load test it.

I havnt checked anything yet. This happened right before I absolutely had to leave town. I just got back. I made the original post so that I could get a brainstorm list that I could go through and check the bike for one by one. Thank you for the suggestions thus far. Ill probably check it out this weekend and let you guys know what comes up. If there are any more suggestions feel free to add them.

OKAY... checked the battery and its good. Checked all the fuses and they are good. This brings me to money pit land. The bike goes in the shop as soon as I can get a friend with a truck to tow it there. Feel free to start the betting on what the problem is.

Oh and I most likely get to miss the Ride of The Century in St. Louis two weekends from now. If you dont know what that is, youtube it. **** my life.
