Hi TipToeNic, welcome to the forum.
Glad the boyfriend is ok... phew.
Another member to the 06 F4i club (the last and very best IMHO), that is a fantastic find not even barely run in
Cheers
Al

And she's an '06. Can't wait to make her mine 💙
Well now everyone is going to think that I'm bias by saying that I really like the blue one, but can you blame me? I'm glad your BF is ok too, but sad to lose a nice F4i. Anything salvageable from it? How did you find this one? Was it local, or having shipped? If not local, how did you verify it's condition? You should start a thread on your new acquisition and show the changes that you make on it as you progress. It appears you're on IG, do you post motorcycle related stuff there?

Want to see a dope one like mine that's stunted out... Check out @chaperonestunts on insta. He actually split his banana seat and it's done so smooth. I hated mine I'll be using another subframe and stealing that split seat for the blue one that's coming. Is it just me or does everyone else have issues with f4i seat latches lol both my cbrs were like that and it sucks trying to wheelie with a seat that doesn't latch 😂 lost a seat on the hwy once and had to stop at a pizza shop to use a pizza box to ride home with as my banana seat flew off a bridge. Ps new blue bike still hasn't been delivered... Waiting until end of this week now 😬

Delivered? I'm not that trusting and patient. I go get them and ride them home. Made trips to places like Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Syracuse, Bristol and others to pick up bikes and ride them home to S. FL. Great way to get to know the bike and excuse for a road trip.

Banana seat latch issue is usually the plastic surrounding the hook on the seat itself, not the latch.
I had it once, like 60,000 miles and 10yrs ago lol I glued the plastic down and lived a happy life ever since.

Put a small ty-rap (zip tie)on the plastic on mine, solved the problem.
