Thing to remember with bikes vs cars is a bent frame on a car may affect handling and tire wear but wont come out from under you if you go into a corner hard.

If you are looking to build from the ground up there are plenty of "salvage" frames with zero damage, scrapes, scratches, much less bends that you can get cheap.

Of course I am very lucky, I have a bike specific salvage yard 5 minutes from my house.
