if you got a brand new battery it will be just fine to plug in and ride, i do recommend getting a tender unless you ride it atleast once a week for more than 45 min.

i have an alarm on mine and if i do not run it at least every third day the battery drains to nothing.

Battery tenders are worth their weight in gold. Takes a few seconds to plug it in but not having to worry about having a dead battery makes it worth it.

I don't know about the 750mA, but the 1.25 amp is good. Mine runs at 1.5 amps. Also, you don't need to have it plugged in all the time. You should be able to go a few weeks without it. Make sure you get one with a quick connect.
