Thanks guys! I didn't think I was riding it too hard, but I just wanted to double check!

I think I'm going to start up a "What RPM do you ride at thread" and sticky it so people can reference it.

No offense but that would be one of the most pointless stickies of all time.

I've been cruising around 3500-4200. its definitely not bogging down at all. but this is my first motorcycle, so im curious as to whether im still at too low of an rpm or not.

thanks in advance for the input
I have a 2004 f4i with just over 6500 miles on it now and I try to stay above 4500 RPMs when I'm cruizing. My reasoning is, if you look at the dyno charts for a stock 04 f4i, there is a small drop in HP and Torque at 4000 RPMs. It is definitely not as responsive if you get on it at 4000 RPMs. If I'm at 5000 or above, perfect response.

edit: I'm not sure if other year f4i's have the same characteristic of that drop in HP and torque? Anyone?

My low hanging fruit tingles just right in the 5-7k range.

I heard, here I think, that you arent charging below 5k. I dont know how true this is but worth a mention.
