Default Airbox resonators??

Ive searched but havent found any relevant information on this. The intake resonators (the triangle shaped things on top of each air duct), Are there any benefits in removing these and sealing the holes?

Im doing the airbox mod this weekend (T valve fitting) and while Im in there, i figured I could remove those things if not needed.

Any insight welcome. Thanks!

Your engine will be a little bit louder. I've heard there are very slight power increases, too.

^then your bike was already running good, thats a plus

the main thing about the clean air mod is to keep the air clean! as in no oil in the airbox, which you will only really have problems with on REALLY tall wheelies, sometimes it does do a LITTLE bit of increase. the resonators removed will do no low end increase but may do a high end, for me, all i noticed was the intake whistle and a k&n will prolly decrease low end and up the high end as well

I pulled my resonators off to make more room for my projector headlight wiring harness - have not noticed any difference in performance. Not a noticable change in noise either.... not sure what those little suckers were doing?

there r there to decrease engine noise and also to change something in the intake velocity-something for emissions. mainly for the noise tho

Ditto, I took mine off for the same reason. The only difference I've noticed is exactly what others have been saying, a bit more intake/throttle noise and maybe a very small boost in top end power. I for one like the extra sound. I think the F4i sounds way to docile when I compare it to my f3 figther.
