i am still learning about this stuff but it kinda sounds like a broke wire.. if that is it, it might be an easy fix.. maybe someone who knows more than me can help better..

It seems I used to have this problem before except it was with where the left controls hooks into the main harness. You would wiggle it and the lights would go ballistic. I just used some dielectric grease on the contacts, and it fixed right up for the most part.

yea im still learning about all this too. ive actually picked up alot from the forum but this is confusing me! like if i wiggle it then the lights come on and starts up just fine. but when i move the wire a little bit the bike shuts off, headlights and all.

this is so frustrating... well im going to go tip my bike over now

Lol @ poc.
They went off and won't come back on? Check your fuse again. Sounds like you have a short to ground on one of the wires that powers your headlights

ok so not only does the bike shut off but the lights too?
or just the lights?
yep this one is over my head...lol...
i would wiggle little parts of the wire to see if you can figure out what part of it might be the problem...but not sure if that would work if it's all taped up..

fuse still looks good. i mean when i wiggle them the right way the lights are on and the bike starts. but when i got down the street i guess the wire wiggled the other way or somethin and the entire bike shut off.

yea both lights and the bike itself cut off. thank god i wasnt on a main street cause it caught me by surprise... and sitting in the middle of the street with no lights isnt the safest thing to do

Sounds like you need some dielectric grease in the front fairing harness
