Default Aftermarket headlight assembly?

hey guys i need your help, i have busted my OEM headlight and i really dont feel like paying $350 for another. i know u can buy some on ebay for like $120-200 but i have heard because of the amount of reflective chrome on the inside of them they dont focus the light at all so they are basically useless. is this correct or is this false information? any help would be VERY appreciated!

I have a chrome one and love it, no complaints as far as light goes but I am running hid, the chrome gives off this halo of light around the front of the bike on the ground, but have not noticed a loss of light out front of me

Around 150 on eBay don't remember brand, I like te combo of headlight and hid, I do a lot of riding in Michigans country side and always fear the same, I light the road up for about a football field with my high beam on and can see street signs a half mile out shining light back at me
