Aftermarket fairings

Aftermarket fairings
Well, I did it. I took the plunge and bought some aftermarket fairings for my 04 F4i on ebay. Paid $450, but not a bad price I suppose after I priced out what was available here.
The fitment seems to be quite good, but it didn't come with any mounting hardware, so I'm taking the allen bolts, screws, and rubber pieces that they screw into out from my old fairings and using those.
The problem I'm running into is with the rear seat piece. The stock rear seat has some mounting pieces to hold the rear light in place. These pieces are held in place by screws, which in turn screw into little metal pieces which are embedded in the seat. The aftermarket seat just has a plastic nub with a little hole drilled in it in that place.
Is there any way to remove the metal "screw" pieces from the stock seats and put them in the new one? Or should I use some screws that have sharp ends in place of the stock screws?
If you've done this before, how did you solve this problem? Thanks
