Default After replacing my CCT...

After I replaced my CCT with the A.P.E. manual tensioner the rattling noise went away but now I need to ask everyone that knows about these things.. it sounds like a chain is hitting the metal on the tensioner is this normal? I read a post that said that there is a normal "ping ping" noise is that what that is?

Take it back off and reinstall it the right way.

You did not install it correctly. Did you remove your valve cover? It sounds like you may have it too loose still.

As long as you tightened the 2 screws that hold it in (with the gasket), it's installed correctly. You shouldn't have to remove the valve cover or even the air box to install a cctl. just lift the gas tank. THAT'S IT.

TUNING it is another thing. There is a detailed STICKY thread on how to do this. As long as you are not deaf, it's easy to tune with the bike running. It may take a few times to get it right so be patient. After it's adjusted correctly there will be no noise at all. If there is ANY noise, rattle, squeal, etc, you need to adjust it again.
