Default 99 cbr 600 f4i

Hey guys I am new to the forum. I am not sure where to post this so i figured I would post it here. I am just curious about this bike. It is a 99 cbr 600 f4i with 30000 miles on it for sale for $3000. I was just wondering if this would be a good buy? What problems would I run into with such a high milage bike? How many more miles could I posisbly get out of this engine if I were to buy?

30k isnt high mileage on these bikes. A 99 would be a F4 and any bike thats 10yo n has less miles hasnt been ridden. I have a 00 F4 with almost 60k on it, know a guy with a 05 with 150k on his n it still runs like new. $3k isnt a bad price either but you may be able to talk em down a bit

Thanks for the info... I was under the impression that I wouldn't get too much out of it. Well I am going to look at it and possibly picking up the bike this weekend. Any tips on what I should look for on this bike when i look at it?

Check the maintenance items on it. Tires, brakes, ask about last oil change and plug changes.. Also any cosmetics with the bike.. It is 10 years old but you should be able to tell if its been put down or not. See how long it has sat since the person last rode it.. Check with them the maintenance with the carbs.

Good luck with your possible new bike.

Depending on how well it was taken care of, the mileage shouldn't be a problem. Mileage is on the lower end for this 10yo bike, but $3000? You could do lower. If you have $3000, why not go for an F4i?

I sold my 2000 F4 with under 9000 miles for 3050, and I had just cleaned the carbs, installed flushmounts on the front, integrated LED on the rear, put new plugs in it, and had a K&N Oil filter to go with it.

Ran perfect, and wasn't going to need anything for a long time - felt like it was fair price for both parties

I think there is a valve adjustment due on those bikes at 16000, although lots of bikes go longer without one. See if you can verify if it has been done, if not take it into consideration.

I bought my '03 F4i with 7,700 miles on it for $3,100 which included two jackets (leather and nylon), helmet, gloves and a rear wheel stand.
It also has a Micron hight mount oval pipe and a PC3.

If it's a 99, it's not an f4i, it's an f4. Honestly, that seems way overpriced for that year. I wouldn't be paying more than 2k. I got my 02 f4i with 30k miles for 3300.
