Hi guys! New owner here! Got myself a 2006 600f and love her to bits, see photo below! However whenever I give gas somewhere between 3krpm-5krpm it makes such a horrible loud noise! This starts at 5krpm when cold and then it’s at lower rpm when engine is warm. Also when not accelerating it still happens during this rev range, but when I give more revs it seems to be not as loud or the exhaust is just louder, but I drive mostly in the city and it’s almost embarrassing that people just hear this noise as I drive by with such a beautiful bike. She drives fine but this noise is so loud I can’t bare it anymore. I thought it was the CCT as per the sticky’s here but I’m not sure anymore as there is no ticking along with it and we even checked the CCT and adjusted it. Any ideas? Video attached

Welcome to the forum, that is certainly a strange noise and agree does not sound like the CCT.
What though that is the question and I have to say I do not know.
Have you checked for something vibrating as it does seem to happen at higher revs, does it go away as you rev higher?

to me it does sound like metal knocking on something, but I can’t seem to identify what or where. To me it sounds like it is coming somewhere from the front of bike maybe under the tank. When driving it’s too loud to understand exactly the point, also tried with a friend to get him to look while I rev it. Seems in higher gears it’s not so much an issue mostly lower gears and the lower the gear the lower the rpm it starts at, bike runs fine which is what’s strange. I tried all the typical things like windshield, dashboard, tank cover, clutch, fairings, all bolts I can see ect, kinda lost 😞
Pretty sure my 05 CBR was doing the exact same thing when I was looking to buy it. Bike only had around 2400 miles and I was thinking it was the CCT. I had the guy to have it swapped out with a new Honda CCT before I bought it and it did not help. I will say the noise evenly went away. Mine would do it around 5K RPM and always sounds like it was coming from the wi shield area.
