Its actually only about 1/2lb lighter. But it is still a weight savings none the less of rotational mass.

You save about 1/2lb of rotational mass and the 525 has about 9,300lbs of tensile strength while the 520 has about 8,800 lbs.

All in all the 525 will last longer and require less tightening but not by alot.

Well if a standard 525 chain weighs just over 4lbs, then your chain weighs just over 1lb?

The RK website states the 525 weighs 4.3lbs/ 100 links and the 520 weighs 3.75lbs/100 links.

Doesn't a stock f4i use 108 links?

Yes, an F4i uses 108 links I was just too lazy to add the weight of the extra 8 links as the website only had the weight per 100 links.

The stock F4i 525 chain weighs 4.6lbs and the stock length 520 f4i chain weighs 4.05lbs. Better?

I did forget I was weighing stock sprockets to aftermarket light weight ones. So yes I did drop that much weight total but thats a stock setup vs all aftermarket setup. Aftermarket 525 sprockets might not be much heavier then 520's but I don't know as I've never bought any. You are correct a 525 has more tensile strength but that is a measure of how much it resists stretching. Both the 520 and 525 have the same 1000 rating for wear life. I've never ever stretched half way through the wear indicator before the chain was no good anymore so tensile strength isen't a concern for me, only wear life.
