2001 Honda F4i "FI" Light Issue
Thanks for the help. How do I go about "jumping the diagnostic plug"?? Just run a wire between the two pins?
Will the plug give me a readout even if the "FI" light isnt illuminated right then and there?

did anyone ever find a solution for this? I am experiancing the exact same problem. the bike will intially run great for about 30 mins but then after that the fuel will start to cut in and out causing the bike to buck. As this is going on the Fi light will flicker and the tach will jump from where ever its at to zero rpm. When it finally does die i just turn it back on and it runs fine again with no Fi light or anything, for about another 30 mins. then it repeats the same process. Let me know what it is you guys did to resolve this issue, any help would be appreciated!!
guys im having the same issue here
totally unmodified 2006 honda f4i with 16,000 miles.
could it be the plugs? im really starting to get worried, because its my GF's bike.
please get back to me asap with any help that you can think of.
driving, as soon as the rpm hits 8-10,000 rpm or i crank some throttle into it, it bucks and then if i slow down, it shuts off. the FI light turns on, and i pull over, start back up and go. if i let it idle the problem never happens. revving it idle doesn't do this problem, only when im rolling.

i changed the spark plugs on the bike and its now fine. runing really well.
try that.
while changing the lines i checked everything to make sure lines where not pinched, etc.
if its not the plugs check your fuel filter

I did the plugs and it ran great for a day, So I am now leaning towards it being the fuel regulator as mentioned earlier in this thread. i have already ordered the part so I will post results if that fixes the issue!
Here's a thought, it could be your voltage regulator/rectifier. It happens to you only at low speeds or lower rpms. Or your stator could be going bad. Not enough electrical power to keep it going at lower rpms maybe?
no thanks for your help, but its only at HIGH rpm's at low rpm & idle its totally fine. once there is a hard load is when it happened.
update: I went ahead and switched out the air filter, topped off all my fluids, ran some injector cleaner through the system, switched out the spark plugs, and put in a new fuel pressure regulator, and I am still having the same issue.... I am now guessing that it has to be something electrical.... anyone elese want to throw out any more possibilities of what it might be???
Same thing used to happen to me all the time it sucked when in turns lol. It was happening for like a month did all the same things to try to fix the problem. I lost my key and gf lost the spare so had to take the triple tree off and take it to key maker. In the process, right behind the triple tree are three wires the yellow one had a burn mark on it. I got a key made rode around and kept yanking on those cords and sure enough the bike died, and the F1 light came on. Check and see if the yellow one is burned. if so go to home depo get some cord and slice that section. I did that and the problem never came back.
