1992 cbr 900rr suspension upgrade
Hi all
I’m based in the U.K. I’m new to the forum (this is my first posting) I recently purchased a 1992 cbr900rr. Someone at some point decided to turn it into a street fighter. I’ve been riding for more years than I can remember, and before motorbikes are banned from our roads, i want to service it/sort out some issues for a bit of summer fun/cheap thrills. To cut a long story short, the main problem is the suspension. The rear shock is worn and gives a very harsh ride. The front forks are a bit better but could do with a rebuild. I need some advice on either replacing or repairing the rear shock and front forks. I mainly want to use the bike for road riding and occasional touring. Are there any rear shock absorbers and front forks from other bikes that will fit without too many modifications, or would I be better off getting the shock and forks rebuilt. If I go for the rebuild option, any recommendations? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
