150 MPH today!!!
Does anyone know the optimal rev range for mpg though? If we did, we could certainly pick sprockets for that

This is a -1,+2 (15-47) REAL speed (not indicated) chart of my F4 for each gear.

Take a look at how many cars can do 150mph.

personally i never when over 80-85 miles an hour according to my bike but that is really like 70-75 cuase my speedo is off. i use my bike as a cruiser and just to commute back and forth to work and school. i honestly feel no need to go faster then that. personally i love accelerating hard but i dont really push the bike hard when it comes to that. i would also like to state i dont find my self to be remotly experinced or even good at it yet i still have a long way to go. if you ask why i bought a sportbike over a cruiser i wanted the experince and the bike was cheep my next bike will be a cruiser or a touring bike sorta like the bmw tourning bikes. i would love to improve my connering skills but will have to wait till next year to attend a more advacide connering skill class.
About 4K or so seems to get the best mpg, but that's a guesstimate.
Really? I thought that since the F4i's speedo reads 999 that is how fast it went.
I have been driving and wrenching on high performance cars for awhile. Give me at least a little credit. Most modern large displacement Sports Cars will meet or exceed 150mph. Even the new Chevy Impala will do 142mph verified in the Michigan State Police testing. Hell with mild mods I am sure you could get a Dodge Durango or Chevy Tahoe to do 150. I don't think I would want to be riding in it at that speeed, but that is beside the point.
Top speed is not a game for 600's. They are still within the reach of cars. Their only advantage is acceleration. A well setup sports car with stick rubber can even corner better. It just can accelerate out of the corner like a sportsbike.
alot less then u think and just cuase it says 150 does mean it can.

well i never said a moddified car couldnt hit 150
. but i mean majority of cars have a hard time geting to 150 especially with space the new cars coming out in todays market are much more capable of geting there. by the way nice to meet another gear head
im restoring/ moddifing a 1969 corvette. i agree with u about alot of what your saying.

Isn't it amazing how everyone gets a huge e-***** in a thread like this?
I hit it now and then. Love to feel the adrenaline and speed, but always seem to shake my head and say, "****, that was stupid".

Experienced riders need to show respect for the noobs and talk to them, not down to them.

i didn't buy my for track use, it's never even been on the track.
i love cranking down a road using what the bike has to offer.
i think all you track yuppies are like semi-drivers in the sense that you just care about your track riding and have no respect for road riders anymore because they "aren't safe to speed" so you have to ween off your track stuff to the road riders.(similar to how a semi driver forgets that he drove cars.....)
i ride windy country roads that i've been down many times....granted it might not be as safe as the track, but who bought a bike to be conservative with it? live the dream baby.

Big difference in running a backroad at 40mph than a highway at WTFO.
Takes a bit more skill too.
The reality of the situation is that you will NEVER, EVER, EVER, be able to ride a modern 600 to its potential on public roads. That is really all there is to track riding. It's kind of like buying a McLaren, then driving it around town.
The truly funny thing is everyone seems to think it's a big deal to brag about how fast you went. Why? A n00b can do the same thing the first day he buys the bike. It dosent take any skill. All it takes is a lack of common sense and disregard for self preservation.
A little risk in life is fine. It reminds you that you are alive. Learning to moderate that risk is what separates adults from children. Don't misunderstand me. I have seen many a 40 year old child in my life. They are the ones that seem to think their actions have to effect on others. They are the ones that will tell you it's their right to not wear a helmet and go bar hopping on a bike then tear *** down the highway. Don't ask them who is going to be crying next to their hospital bed and feeding them dinner through a straw for the rest of their life when they perform a telephone pole Lobotomy. They don't care about those people. It's all about THEM and their adrenaline rush.

i get to 150 every other day, be careful when doing so. and make sure your bike is in top shape if you going to be doing speeds like that, and remember at 204 mph, the ground is traveling at a speed of 299 feet per second, thing about it.
have fun, be careful, ride hard.

I've personally been draggin a knee at about 105mph on a track, topped out at about 125ish down the straight at the same track. Way more fun then a 150 down some highway thats for sure.
I have no problem with people going mach 2 on their bikes, but if it is a public road then there is a possibility that you are jeopardizing your life and someone elses! A squid around here last summer was on his shiney new steed trying to break the sound barrier and slammed into a minivan and killed a 3 and 4 year old brother and sister. He some how lived. Think about that next time you're going 150 on a public road! At that speed you are at the complete mercy of the road and everything around you, you can't realistically stop that bike or swerve to miss a car, animal whatever. As someone pointed out that is a few hundred feet per second!! Just some food for though, ride how you will but remember that you're not just playing with your life and you're not invinsible!
