'06 F4i, meet Mr. PCIIIusb
Holy smokes, whatta difference.
Completely stock bike using the d/l map from powercommander.com. The bike, always sort of choppy on/off throttle, is now like butter. All the power curves are rounded out nicely, no abruptness in the middle of turns.
Also, it runs about 5 dergees cooler, all other conditions held constant (outside temp., shift points, etc.)
Money well spent. I recommend this as the first "performance" mod for your bike.
Now, time for the Akro slip-on

Is it worth it? How was it to install and how was it to program certian things? With the one you bought, what can you adjust on the bike. I have a slipon jardine can. Can it work with that. what can I expect from it.
Others who have it please respnd as well!!!!

YES! I love my PCIII USB. You can really feel the powerband become much smoother and the throttle become more rev happy.I downloaded a map specially designed for the Yoshimura RS-3and it's awesome. I still feel that I can unlock more power if I get it dyno tuned...
Worth every penny. It's easy to install. The hard part is taking off the plastic to get to where you need to be, but that's easy. On my RR, the only thing that took me a few minutes was finding the TPS plug. It was tucked in behind the frame and I looked over it for about 10 minutes. I was playing around with -1 and -2 gearing on the front until I installed the PC III. I went back to stock gearing so I could start fresh and haven't felt the need to switch the gearing yet.
Installation was a breeze (even for me, Mr. Badwrench!). The PCIII for the '01 - '06 F4i models only has 2 connectors that install "inline" near the gas tank - left side. Easy access. Just be careful with the plastic removal.
The unit has adjustment buttons on the face but I didn't mess with 'em. Just use the d/l map from powercommander.com. They have 2 maps for Jardine slip-ons with stock air filter. The PCIIIusb can be reprogrammed while still on the bike with a laptop.
Also, if you're in California you need the O2 sensor eliminator kit ($15) which is just a plug to cap off the sensor wires leading to the gauges. Easy stuff & great directions.
Well worth the money.

I had a PCIII installed on my '01 and it worked great.....for about a year.
One day while riding I hit a big bump on the highway and the bike just shut off!
I pulled over and turned the ignition off, turned it back on and the bike fired up.
It didn't happen again for a few mos. then it started acting up. IF I hit a decent sized bump, the bike would just shutoff.I could restart by pulling the clutch in (while at speed mind you), turn the ignition off then back on and push the starter button and engine would refire. I checked EVERYTHING, you usual suspects, battery connection etc., nothing. It finally got to the point to where it was shutting off on any sized bump and it got too dangerous to ride the bike.
I disconnected the PC just to see if that made a difference and guess what, engine shut off never happened again.
I think maybe the circuit board has some loose connections and was causing the power to cut off to the unit.
I haven't installed a new one since then, just have it disconnected. I'm going to call someone at Dynojet and see if they can help me, if not I guess I'm SOL.

I'm orderinga PCIII this week for my '03 - tax refund already on its way!
From what I've heard and read, fuelmotousa.com is one of the best places to buy these from. They've got their own dyno in-house sothey've tuned bikesand developed maps, they'll send the PC pre-programmed for your bike and the mods you've done, they double the warranty on the unit and they offer mapping assistance for any mods you make AFTER you buy the PC.
Getting mine for $269 - shipped

would a powercommander be able to tune my bike to run on E85??
I would be very interested in one, if that were the case. Im pretty sure it would need to be dyno tuned, since I highly doubt that there are any E85 maps for it.
Also can a PC store more than one map, for example could I switch from an E85 map, and a 92 octane map w/o needing a laptop?
