Default '02 F4i loss of power after shifting

Hey guys, I'm brand new to the forum and I have a question.
I have a 2002 F4i that started sputtering under hard acceleration about a month ago. I changed the plugs and ran a few tanks of gas with some fuel system cleaner through it and that cleared it right up. However, on the past few rides, it has stared giving me a new problem. Right after upshifting under hard acceleration, there is a momentary, but very dramatic, loss of power. Enough so that it jerks me forward on the seat. Then after a half a second or so, she kicks back in and its back to full power thoughout the rest of the gear. The hesitation only happens at the bottom of every gear, and under hard acceleration, but its very consistant and specific. Any ideas? I'm fairly new to bikes, so don't assume I know anything! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like its getting too much fuel, when did you last check/change your fuel pressure regulator?

I've only had the bike about 4 months, so I've never changed or checked it. Not sure about the previous owner. How would I go about doing that?

ok, so i never checked one myself, but it should be similar to this video just make sure you get the right hose, and not the return fuel line.
below is a good guide on what the FPR is and how to replace it, also the basics on how to get to that part of the bike.
now you dont need to remove the ecu or anything or the fairings, you do need to remove the snorkle covers to the left and right forward of the tank.
there is a phillips head screw at the front and the back clip under the tank, so you will have to (if they were installed correctly) push down and pull out on the back.
if you plan on removing the airbox which is recomended its not too difficult phillips head screws for everything, there are 5 hoses and 2 sensors connected to it.
2 small in the back 1 big in the back 1 small on the clutch side (plugged into the map sensor) and 1 big on the very front.
also the snorkels remove at that half way point, they come in 2 main pieces, the front of the bike, then at that seperation point and then in the airbox.
you can stick your finger in that mid point and slide it out, its a pain but it will seperate.
for proping the tank up, do not stress the fuel hose, you can rest the bottom of the tank at the top of the shock and let it lean on side plastics by the seat.
doing so will scratch your tank up if you dont put something in between it, and its recomended to have a little less than half a tank so it can be balanced right, use a rope or something to secure it as well.

^^^^^^ FPR how to
and this is the video for a car's FPR but it should be close to the same thing.
hopefully other people can come up with other things to consider if you need more help or any information whatsoever please post, no need to do any damage if you are not sure about something
