Default 02 F4i looking to do a subframe conversion?

Hey guys,

I'm a bit of a lurker, but I'm posting because I need some input.

Recently screwed up on a wheelie and flipped my bike (thankfully no one was hurt except for me).

Total Damage:
- Windscreen completely snapped off. Front cowling needs to be replaced.
- clip on handlebars are completely snapped off. need to guy the entire assembly with all controls associated (levers, engine cut-off, light switch, etc)
- entire subframe (pretty sure that's what it's called) from the tank on back is bent to the right. Going to need to completely replace that. completely unrideable without a new subframe
- somehow the main seat came off, and with it the battery tumbled out, taking the ECU with it. luckily all the wires came off clean save one. need to replace that.
- bracket that holds the tach and mirrors is ****ed. need to replace that.

I've been looking at some aftermarket parts to put on my bike (just because I'm gonna need to replace an asston of parts anyways) and I was looking at this light

1999 2000 2004 2005 2006 Honda CBR 600 F4 F4i LED Tail Light Sequential Smoked

Since I have a 2002, this light doesn't fit onto my bike and I can't seem to find the 2001-2003 version of these lights.

Since the bracket for the lights is completely different on the 2001-2003 f4i, I was thinking I should just completely switch out the 2002 subframe for a 2004-2006 subframe since I heard the banana seats were super comfortable. will it fit without any issues? are there extra parts i'll need to buy with the 2004 subframe?

Thanks for all the help guys. Again, I've been a lurker for a long time and I've learned a lot by just going through the threads. You guys are awesome.

Welcome to the forum.

Not many do a split-seat to banana seat conversion. The conversion to banana seat is as straight-forward as doing the split-seat. You'll need; banana seat subframe, battery tray/undertail, tail cowl, seat, tail light, & misc hardware. You'll reuse some of your orig hardware.

hit up CJardine in the classifieds.. he converted his banana seat to the split seat, so he has nearly everything that you need.
