Default 02 f4i headlight question

The new f4i I just got has a good headlight but the two brackets in the middle are broke. One I have the piece and was thinking about rigging it back together and the other is just missing the stem that inserts into the upper faring stay on the bike.

My question is, these dont really seem to be structurally holding anything on the bike but rather just kinda holding it in place on the bike....the stems just stick into the holes. All the other brackets with screws are good. Do you think I could still use this and be good so I dont have to shell out $200 or more on a new headlight?

Thanks.

if your headlight doesn't move, etc. then you'll be fine. as long as the other mounting points on the sides of the headlight are still good, you will be fine.

the two taps that you are talking about at used to mount the upperfairing(while connected to headlight) to the stay bracket. if you dont have the side fairings already on, this would be a bitch for you to keep in place until you do place the side fairings on.

other then that, if all of your fairings are secured then the headlight should not move.
good luck.

I laid my bike down and had my head light mounts break just like those. When I put everything back together the lamp jiggled around too much and I had to buy a new one.

Sounds like something broke inside your headlight itself. Mine has been down twice and pretty much no original mounting points are intact. New ones were epoxied into place and my headlight acts like normal.
