RE: 02 F4i
I find the f4i struggles with roll-on's as well. I went to the local spot yesterday to practice for a few hours and I am struggling to get it even a few inches up with using power only. Can anyone throw some suggestions our way?
My method thus far is: start in 1st gear, bring it up to 6-8K fairly quick, snap the throttle closed, then snap it open and pull up a little... I have also tried bouncing on the pegs to load the suspensions but still I reach maximum 2-3 inches.

that is how I do it. I can ride it out the length if first gear's powerband. Try starting from a slower speed and accelerating quickly than snapping the throttle. Keep practicing

thanks for the tip, i'm going to try you're method of accelerating quickly then snapping it open. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

you will probably get some better afvice in the stunting section of the forum and try searching online like youtube or something for instructional videos. Onetime I saw a really great video on this fourm...about 5-10 minutes long i think. Realy helpful...

qutoed the wrong person there... meant to quote the one above....
I've watched all the videos and read all the websites, it's just a matter of time, consitency and practice. I personally don't want to ask for tips in the stunting section as a few members have quite a negate attitude towards beginners and asking questions(although some do get extremely repetitive)

I was getting it up doing powers before the gearing change. Now, after the gearing change, it comes up easier but I have to be more careful. I can get it up in second doing a power as well but you really have to wind her up. I know what you mean about people giving you an attitude. I hate that. Everyone should want to help others...that is why these kinds of forums were created.

thats what i thought. thanks for the help guys i will definately have to do the sprocket change. im glad i switched to honda and I feel the F4i was a good choice for me and the insurance is half of what i used to pay. the bike is responsive through turns and i cant complain about comfort and ergonomics of this bike. i am 6'1" and wheigh 225 and i have never been so comfortable. the only bad thing is that the seat is like a piece of wood after 30 miles or so
