can anyone tell me what these lines/tunes are for or if its necessary to have them connected for carb synch's or adjusting pilot screws?

 

two smaller ones are fuel overflow hoses, and not necessary. the larger hose in the center goes to the large hose connector between the carbs, it's a breather hose. i assume it might be semi-necessary for maintaining pressure somewhere in the carbs. but maybe not.
