Nice to hear of the progress!

The little parts I was wondering about are the very small cylindrical aluminum oil orfices that sit in pockets in the casting of the engine cases. There are a few alignment dowels to keep the top case straight on the bottom case, and two smaller aluminum dowels with holes through them near the center of the case, where the transmission is divided from the lower end of the engine. They are different on the top and the bottom, and I need to know which way I'm supposed to put them in.

jimmy, you mentioned that the 5th picture dogs were deformed, I am a newbie and I will probably end up tearing apart the tranny and may see similar problems. What should the dog look like without deformation? do you have a pic?

also are these any good? http://aperaceparts.com/transmissions.html

for the price, it is just a tad bit more expensive than getting a used one off ebay.

nevermind, that is a transmission cutting service

Exclamation New issue, clutch cover

In response to what good dogs look like, basically the edges should be 90 degrees, not rounded over. They don't come razor sharp, but a crisp edge is desired. A minor amount of rounding is still usable in the higher gears. It's going into 2nd that takes it hardest then 3rd. After that u should be fine.

Right now I'm reassembling everything and alli got left is clutch cover, fluids and start.

Problem is the clutch cover isn't going on.

Scratch that, I installed the lifterplate wrong... Genious. Now my last step, timing. I'm off by two f marks. Garrr another obstacle I've never battled before.
