Default Tach not working and can't find "spark unit conector"

Hey guys! I am trying to get my 94 600 F2 working in tip-top shape. But that's not possible when I can't even see my RPMs. My tach doesn't work.

I have the manual and it says to remove the right side cover and disconnect the spark unit connector. Then, check continuity between the Yellow/Green wire terminals at the 9p mini connector and the spark unit connector.

It looks like a previous owner has done a bunch of re-wiring. There is another large, red wire with a 15A fuse in it that goes to the headlight. My wire diagram shows the fuse box on the other side from where it is also.

If there is any help someone could offer, that'd be awesome because I feel like I'm in over my head. Thanks.

If you have a manual, and things aren't looking the same, due to the PO changing things up, then all you would be doing (and us as well), is taking shots in the dark regarding the current wiring/missing wiring - is it possible for you to contact the PO with pics of the current wiring, and ask him what's what?
