Default Stumped with engine hesitation

Okay, so i cleaned the carbs, ive changed the a/f screw position so now it idles at 1.4k instead of 2.1k, i replaced all 4 spark plugs, brand new air filter, already oil change, and well its progress from the $1000 bike i started with.

Anyways, if you go wot it still hesitates and sounds like it misfires but if you roll the throttle slowly it can go where ever it wants without any hesitation. I just want to be ablt to ride a bike this summer without always having to worry what the heck is wrong with it now. any suggestions?

also do the rectifier overheat and cause the bike to not charge, kill the battery, jump the battery hours later, ride like 30 minutes on the highway, get home and have a perfectly fine battery afterwords? or is mine just going bad

Why did you change the fuel screw instead of the idle adjuster? Now your mixture might be incorrect.

Also, change your rectifier.

That air/fuel screw is only for idle...so that's not his issue.

Have you cleaned the carbs and taken note where your needles are? Are they aftermarket? What color are the spark plugs?

if your RR is fubar, you could be seeing the result of not having quite enough juice to fire a good hot spark.

Roll to WOT quickly and there's not enough spark until the RPM's come up and a little more voltage comes on, roll in slow and it can keep up.

Test the R/R per the manual.

Put a known strong battery in it, or jump over to it and see if your hesitation is still there.

Check first, don't just blindly order. You'll be wasting money.

What problems did it have prior to cleaning that lead you to clean them?

What's the exhaust system on the bike, what is the air filter?

What size were the pilot jets while you were in there? Were there any indicators a jet kit was installed on your bike?

Did you sync the carbs?

problem before i cleaned the carbs was it wouldn't idle and it sounded like it was running off of 3 cylinders.

The exhaust is a two brothers and the intake is a uni wet filter.

Pilot jets? no idea the size but because one of them was uber chewed up and stripped i doubt its a jet kit

no i never synched the carbs.

I only said the R/R because the battery wouldn't charge when the bike gets hot

With that exhaust and intake setup you'll need a jet kit, or some basic jetting changes for sure. It could possibly introduce a flat spot.

You also need to sync the carbs to complete the job properly. It's not all that difficult.

"uber chewed" means nothing to me... and stripped I presume means the threads were stripped out? Explain that a bit more.

Also, explain how you came to your charging conclusion. You very well may be right about the R/R, but I want to know how you came to the charging conclusion.

^yeah there is definitely a flat spot. uber stripped means you know how the jets take a flat head screw driver, we'll the dude who had the bike before me destroyed the top of some of the jets to the point of where i had to use vice grips to unscrew them.

My charging issue came from when i was riding to columbus like 40 minutes out, and my bike dies, then the battery is completly dead and i had to jump start it to get it started again
