Strange Carb issue
Hello all!
Im extremely confused at this issue im experiencing, Im a bit new to wrenching and my restore to my bike is almost done minus this carb issue.
The Carb, is behaving strangely, at first, it leaks gas profusely, but while its leaking the engine runs(if I cut the engine off, the carbs still leak but it can turn it back on and it runs). Eventually the Carbs stop leaking, but when it stops leaking no gas enters the engine. There's 0 combustion happening, not even the "Puffs" when 1 or 2 cylinders are firing but not enough to turn the engine over, the starter just turns like the engine kill switch is engaged. I know it was NOT the engine as then I put starting fluid in the carbs, it fired right up, then immediately died as it was not getting any gas.
The interesting thing, this happened a few weeks ago as well. That time I took the carbs off the bike opened up the float bowls and gas spilled out, so there was gas in the bowls but for no reason never reached the engine.
The same thing happened today, were leaked gas profusely, engine ran, stopped leaking, then engine stopped running. but this time it was late so I just left the carbs still on the bike. Both times engine held idle for a good decent amount of time.
Any Ideas of what could be going on? Also possibly to help trace the gas leak?
Thanks in advance!
Side Note: These are not my original carbs and never fully worked. Got these off ebay, they are used. Also, Im using the F3 Petcock to avoid the vacuum feeding issue on the F2 petcock models have
