Shot coil???
Ok - I finally got my carbs up to speed! No more leaking fuel! Took it out for a ride around the court - ran great (up to 4k rpm - lots of kids around...). Pulled back into the garage and i could hear a miss develop. After doing a bunch of internet research, I started it up again and felt the headers. #1 was warm(ish), #2, #3, were all hot. I'm suspecting a bad coil pack. Spark test shows no spark on #1 , and spark on #2 & #3. Honda coil packs are $90 on Bikebandit, and the best I could find otherwise (not eBay) is $60 from Emgo. Any other suggestions as to where I can find a coil pack? I don't really want to spend $30-$40 on a 20 year old coil pack that could fail soon...
Thoughts?
carbs are as clean as they are gonna get and have all new gaskets and o-rings, so fuel is ruled out...
R/R appears to be aftermarket and the plug is lightly burnt, but I don't know if that's new or not. It did not get hot while it was running. I ran it long enough for the radiator fan to kick on - wanted to make sure it worked!!!

How can #4 be hot, if the coil is not working? They use the same coil.
If you are missing spark at only 1 cylinder, suspect a bad wire. Switch the wire with another cylinder and see if your miss moves.

+1 I would swap plug wires first and see if it replicates or switches. Free test. Also, if it's arcing you may be able to visually see it if the lights are off and engine is running... But that's subject to a lot of variables.

These coils rarely fail, as a matter of fact, I've not known of a single F2 owner, who has ever tested the coils, and found them even out of OEM tolerance - they will usually outlast the motor and/or the rest of the bike.
Like the guys above said, do the simple tests.
Take a "known good" wire and plug, and connect it to the coil terminal for 1 or 4, and see if you've got spark... an even simpler way to check the coils, would be to test the coils with a multimeter.

Good luck!
