Back to your original question on manuals. The factory manual I got (91-93 CBR600F2) was best, but it was missing page 1 of the index. I copied a page from the PDF and taped it in (only a few corrections required in page numbering). This is the model specific manual - you also need to get a copy of the Honda Common Service Manual (free PDF online)
The PDF version that is available on ebay or elsewhere online is missing the first chapter. This contains all the General Information such as specs, torques, cable harness routing, lube points, etc (in other words, 25 pages of extremely important information).
Like gpfan1 says - build up a group of books and check them all before you start.
I figure I have saved the cost of the shop manual five times over by doing it myself.
