Default Rebuilt engine, pressed starter, only clicks once

I recently tore apart my engine because i thought I broke a piston rod. No dice. So I figure its a fuel/carbarator issue.

Put the bike all back together, except for the fuel line/tank, and wanted to see if it would crank ( when I took the engine apart it would crank but made an awful noise and wouldn't start). So after I just finished putting the engine back together I pressed the starter and all it does it click once.

I thought it might be that the battery is low because it has been sitting for a while but my bike is deep in a garage and hooking it up to some jumpers would be a very difficult task so I thought I might ask you guys your input first before I move half the garage around.

Just to be on the safe side, did you rotate engine with wrench first?

+1

Pull the plugs, and turn the engine by hand. Make sure everything moves freely.

Nah, she's just trying to get your attention, that's all. Sounds like simple float sticking. Nothing a good cleaning or whack across the bowl with screwdriver handle won't cure.
