it's basically just a bolt on. Put your bike in gear, have someone sit on it and hold the brake and unbolt, replace then bolt back on. What happened to yours? There's no moving parts to the pulse generator rotor itself, it only bolts up one way. It isn't adjustable, unless you're installing an aftermarket Pulse generator rotor that is adjustable to change your timing.

measured it with the ohmmeter wasn't 600 ohms was like 30.. but same on the one I just got. If I wait long enough it'll heat up to 600 ohms of resistance

? That doesn't make sense - how are you testing it? It should be unplugged from the wiring harness and you should be testing it at the plug. With it unplugged, the motor won't run, because the Pulse gen is what sends the signal to the ICM. 2-wire harness, a yellow wire and yellow/white wire, correct?

I know all this, I'm going to replace my multimeter today currently using an innova 3300 going to see if i can find a 3320

Look into a Fluke if you plan on using your multimeter regularly. You don't want to be wondering if your results are accurate when it comes to multimeters. Or just get two cheap ones and compare.
