Petcock question....
I'm a noob to the bike world and just learned what a petcock was today. Anyways, should gas leak out of the petcock when the fuel line is removed? No matter what position I have the **** in gas pours out of the petcock when removing the tank. Does this mean it needs to be replaced? What harm if any will this do to the engine if it's left this way? Thanks.
Fuel should not leak out through the petcock, regardless of position.
The flow of fuel through the petcock is vacuum-controlled on the F2.
A suction is created through the small line that goes from the left side
of the engine to the petcock.
A faulty petcock vacuum-diaphram will cause the carburettors to flood,
clogging the carburettor jets/holes over time and creating starting and running issues.
