Arrow My Bike is Not Running Correctly

hey everyone,
i just bought a 1994 cbr 600 f2 and it did not have the gas tank on it when i bought it because the guy said he was cleaning the carbs and i was assemblying her back together and i had her running for maybe 3 minutes idling and she just died its acting like shes not getting gas my buddy and i think it might be a clogged line somewhere does anyone have any ideas? this is only my second bike so i'm still learning how all this works..

Maybe a bad fuel line, bad petcock, or floats stuck closed. Check your spark plugs for verification on whether its stalling by being starved or flooded. It could be flooding due to a stuck open float or stuck choke or bad jetting. Lots of things could be the problem. Investigate further.

is it backfiring by any chance??? mines is doing the same thing and i just got done cleaning the carbs to see if that was the problem

Backfiring typically happens when you are running very lean. Usually noticed most on hard deceleration via engine braking.

OR

Spark plug wires are in the wrong spot. You get a nice crappy popping noise when your plugs fire while the valves are open. :P

it backfired twice when we first started trying to start it but since then it hasnt it sounded nice when it was running my older brother said it sounds like its running rich we're gonna go check it out tonight so wish me luck
