Master cylinder question...
Just installed my braided lines this weekend. during the process I removed a 1"x3" piece of closed cell foam that was floating on top of the brake fluid in the front master cylinder when you remove the diaphragm.
The Clymer manual doesn't show this piece of foam in their schematics and doesn't mention it, so I left it out for reassembly.
I pulled the Honda F2 manual out last night and it is there in their diagrams - but has no part number identifying it, and the text doesn't mention it at all.
Bikebandit, RonAyers, and Servicehonda's fiche all have it listed as "Float, Fr." on both F2 and F3 diagrams.
So - what is it there for, and do I need to put it back in?

No clue why it's there or what it does but I'd put it back in just for peace of mind since it's shown there in the factory book and those other ones. Even if it turns out useless. I'd rather that than my bike not stopping.
yeah - only took a second, figured why not. Then I readjusted my foot brake to where it actually makes the light come on again.
Rear brake still is way weak - dunno why. New MC, new-ish rotor. Plenty of material on the EBC HH pads. I'm thinking contaminated pads.
